About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Heritage Consultant to join our team at Workingmums. As a Senior Heritage Consultant, you will play a key role in supporting the development of our built heritage advisory team, with a focus on delivering projects within the built environment sector.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Project Management: Manage and undertake a wide range of historic environment projects to time and budget, ensuring successful project delivery and adding value for our clients.
  2. Business Development: Prepare fee proposals, set budgets, and maintain project finance, where required, to drive business growth and expansion.
  3. Client Engagement: Provide informed, expert advice to clients and colleagues in relation to potential heritage constraints and opportunities, feeding into concept/design proposals and ensuring effective client relationships.
  4. Methodology Development: Negotiate effective methodologies and proportionate scopes of desk-based and field-based work, ensuring high-quality project outcomes.
  5. Site Inspections and Analysis: Conduct site inspections and visual analyses to inform project decisions and deliver authoritative heritage documents.
  6. Business Planning and Marketing: Undertake business planning and marketing of SLR's heritage services, identifying opportunities for growth and expansion.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Heritage Consultant with a proven track record in a comparable role. You will have a relevant degree-level qualification in heritage or a related field, and a thorough knowledge of the UK planning system with respect to heritage, including current and emerging legislation, planning policy, and guidance.

You will have a strong ability to communicate complex information in an authoritative, intelligible, and effective way, and be able to work well with colleagues, clients, and consultees. Membership of CIfA, IHBC, or similar professional accreditation is preferable or working towards.

A full driving licence and willingness to travel are essential for this role.
