Compliance Manager Job Description

Our client, a leading food manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to oversee the implementation and maintenance of their Food Safety Quality Management System. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the food safety, legality, and quality of all products manufactured on site.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive Food Safety Quality Management System.
  2. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.
  3. Lead the site's food safety plans, including HACCP, TACCP, Allergen, and Listeria management.
  4. Manage the Process Compliance Officer and provide leadership and management to deliver their role effectively.
  5. Provide succession planning for the future.
  6. Collaborate with stakeholders to draw plans on how compliance gaps can be closed and coordinate delivery of those plans.
  7. Coordinate site's NCR database system and timely closure of all actions.
  8. Support improvement to FSQMS in relevant Risk Assessments and Validations.
  9. Manage site barrier risk assessment and associated validations.
  10. Update site policies, procedures, and records as and when required in line with company Doc Control Procedures.
  11. Managing all ER related issues for team, including disciplinaries, performance management.
  12. Attending relevant cross-functional site meetings and presenting technical data.
  13. Collaborating, educating, and training relevant factory staff to support the development of a stronger Food Safety & Quality Culture.
Requirements:
  1. Level 3 Food Safety (Advanced)
  2. Level 3 in H&S (Advanced), either IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
  3. Food-related BSc qualification or min 5 years industry experience
  4. Level 3 HACCP
  5. Foundation TACCP
  6. Level 3 Listeria
  7. Allergen Management
  8. Group and site induction
Experience / Knowledge:
  1. Relevant food manufacturing experience in a similar role (minimum 7 years).
  2. All relevant risk assessments and safe working procedures are reviewed and to current methods.
  3. Hazards and near miss reporting training.
  4. Recognised PC skills (Microsoft Office Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  5. Experience of using VISO or equivalent would be advantageous
  6. Recognised Internal/3rd Party Audit training.
  7. Conduct documented gap analysis between customer COPs and site procedures, manufacturing standards and practices.
  8. Engage with stakeholders to draw plans on how compliance gaps can be closed and coordinate delivery of those plans.
  9. Coordinate site's NCR database system and timely closure of all actions.

Customer (10%):
  1. Supporting customer visits
Project work (20%):
  1. Lead implementation of technical strategy and food safety and quality culture plan.
  2. Support Continuous improvement plans such as complaint reduction, quality improvement & non-conformance reduction.
  3. Lead strategic projects as required.
  4. Carry out other duties as reasonably expected by the business.
