Job Description

  • Prepare self-assessment tax returns for individuals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Calculate individuals' tax liabilities and advise on payment of tax due under self-assessment, providing expert guidance and support.
  • Prepare capital gains tax computations and make claims for relief under SEIS, EIS, and VCT, leveraging technical expertise and knowledge of tax legislation.
  • Engage in correspondence with clients, HMRC, and other third parties, demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prepare partnership and sole trader tax returns, applying technical knowledge and attention to detail.
  • Monitor the compliance cycle for personal and corporate clients, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Prepare corporation tax computations and CT600s with capital allowances claims, etc., showcasing expertise in corporate tax.
  • Prepare P11Ds, PSAs, CIS returns, and ERS returns, demonstrating proficiency in various tax areas.
  • Assist managers with ad hoc planning and advisory projects, applying technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
  • Assist with dealing with HMRC enquiries, providing expert support and guidance.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Taxation Specialist should possess:

  • A professional qualification in tax or accountancy (ATT/ACA/ACCA/CTA or equivalent).
  • Strong technical skills in both corporate and personal tax.
  • A commitment to keeping up-to-date with tax legislation and best practice.
