Residential Children's Services Team Leader

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our Residential Children's Services team in Newport. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the needs of young people in our care are met and providing a positive and safe living experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead Residential Support Workers to provide high-quality childcare and ensure the Home runs efficiently and effectively.
  • Work on shift to safeguard young people and create a homely environment, taking into account their views, wishes, and feelings.
  • Deliver supervision in accordance with company policy and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the Home's Statement of Purpose, Policy, and Procedures.
  • Support effective multi-agency working and positive relationships with staff, the local community, and other professional agencies.
  • Comply with company guidelines on Codes of Conduct and set an acceptable role model standard within the home.

Essential Skills:

  • Good overall standard of education and working towards or hold Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Child Care legislation, children's home regulations, and quality standards.
  • Previous experience of working directly with young people with challenging behavior and good report writing and numeracy skills.
  • Able to relate to young people with empathy and committed to a high standard of childcare and to achieve the best outcomes for young people in their care.
