Job Title: Residential Children's Services Team Leader

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our Residential Children's Services team in Newport. As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the well-being and safety of young people in our care, while also providing leadership and guidance to our Residential Support Workers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the needs of young people are met and provide a positive and safe living experience.
  • Manage and lead Residential Support Workers to provide high-quality childcare.
  • Work on shift to ensure the Home runs efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage Residential Support Workers, delivering supervision in accordance with company policy.
  • Comply with the Company's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.
  • Support effective multi-agency working and positive relationships with staff, the local community, and other professional agencies.
  • Comply with company guidelines on Codes of Conduct and set an acceptable role model standard.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of young people's Plans.
  • Support and complement the reviewing and monitoring process in the development of Care Planning.
  • Promote anti-discriminatory and equal opportunity practices in line with Company Policy.
  • Comply with legislation and company policies on Health & Safety, Fire, and Data Protection.
Essential Skills:
  • Good overall standard of education.
  • Working towards or hold Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Child Care legislation, children's home regulations, and quality standards.
  • Previous experience of working directly with young people with challenging behavior.
  • Good report writing and numeracy skills, well-organized with good administration skills, and IT literate.
  • Able to relate to young people with empathy and committed to a high standard of childcare.
  • Strong motivational, management, and leadership potential.
