About the Role

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Graphic Designer / Artworker / Illustrator to join our design team at Toy World Magazine. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative individual who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for producing high-quality print-ready packaging designs for our range of toys, games, and gadgets.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Produce high-quality design concepts including illustrations while maintaining brand consistency and adhering to our design guidelines.
  2. Manage your own workload, ensuring projects are completed on time and to a high standard, while collaborating with our team of designers and reporting to the head of Design.
  3. Liaise with clients and external contractors, including printers, to ensure designs are print-ready and meet all the relevant recycling and safety warning standards.
  4. Maintain strong file management and organisation throughout the design process, using project management and communication tools like GoodDay, Teams, and emails to keep track of project progress.
Key Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience), with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work, particularly in packaging and print design.
  2. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; other apps would be a bonus.
  3. Experience working with brand guidelines and design briefs, with a keen eye for detail and design aesthetics.
  4. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines, with excellent time management and organisational skills.
  5. Excellent understanding of colour theory, typography, and layout design, with a strong commercial awareness and ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal departments.
