About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead UX Designer to join our team at Sykes Cottages Limited. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design of our products and services, ensuring a seamless user experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our customers' needs and behaviors, using this insight to inform design decisions.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand design requirements, ensuring that our products and services meet the needs of our customers.
  3. Design and deliver user-centered solutions that meet business objectives, using a structured approach to planning and execution.
  4. Work with researchers to deliver informed design solutions, ensuring that our products and services are fit for purpose.
  5. Collaborate with developers on solutions and design handovers, ensuring a smooth transition from design to development.
  6. Support other designers with larger business projects, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.
  7. Take ownership of key objectives, including personal growth and development, and contribute to the development of the UX team culture.
  8. Manage stakeholder expectations of timelines and deliverables, ensuring that our products and services are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  9. Represent UX and the wider department in relevant meetings, influencing and shaping product roadmaps and key deliverables.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of UX design principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
