Job Title: Animal Welfare Specialist

We're seeking an experienced Animal Welfare Specialist to join our dedicated team at DiverseJobsMatter. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the welfare of animals and promoting animal rights.

About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to work with a passionate team that shares your commitment to animal welfare. Your primary responsibility will be to respond to reports of animal cruelty, neglect or injury, working proactively to prevent or reduce the incidence of animal cruelty and neglect through interactions with members of the public, sharing knowledge through education and advice to owners.

You will work closely with people and animals every day, offering a career that is both varied and rewarding. This role requires a strong commitment to animal welfare and the ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to reports of animal cruelty, neglect or injury
  • Work proactively to prevent or reduce the incidence of animal cruelty and neglect
  • Interact with members of the public, sharing knowledge through education and advice to owners
  • Work closely with people and animals every day
  • Handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary of £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive full training to ensure you can carry out your duties safely and effectively.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be 17 or older to apply and 18 by the course start date
  • Have a Level 2 qualification in English Language (GCSE grade C or above, or Grades 4-9)
  • Hold a full manual driver's licence with recent manual driving experience and confidence in driving long distances
  • Be a confident swimmer i.e. able to swim 50 metres fully clothed within 2.5 minutes
