BAM is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to strengthen its Supply Chain Management and Procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking procurement activities for civil engineering projects across Scotland, primarily within the energy infrastructure sector. This includes building new substations and HVDC converter stations to support Scotland's transition to net Zero.

The goal is to develop a 'best in class' procurement function that supports BAM's strategy of focus, transform & expand, the Divisional Procurement strategy and objectives. The Procurement Manager will leverage the company's scale while de-risking the delivery of the portfolio through the supply chain.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing supply chain management data and procurement reports for presentation to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Promoting and supporting Category Management and driving compliance through better use of framework agreements and preferred suppliers.
  • Supporting and enhancing business initiatives, including DFMA and utilising digital technologies within the supply chain to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensuring the procurement function is engaged and accountable at every stage of the project lifecycle.
  • Ensuring the supply chain works collaboratively to help deliver the requirements of the Sustainability Strategy.
  • Ensuring financial resilience and health checks are undertaken within the supply chain throughout the procurement process.
  • Promoting a standardised Divisional approach to the procurement process.
  • Ensuring effective negotiations are conducted with the Supply Chain.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in an Engineering, Commercial or Business related discipline and proven ability to lead whole life cycle procurement activities for major infrastructure frameworks. They will also have experience in developing Procurement Strategies and Procurement Plans in collaboration with key stakeholders.
