Job Title: Staff Laboratory Engineer

Fugro is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Laboratory Engineer to join our Geotechnical Laboratory team in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing advanced tests on soil samples from client projects globally.

About the Role:
  • Perform a range of advanced tests on soil samples, including monotonic cyclic triaxial and simple shear tests.
  • Use advanced computer control programs to record data and input results into a computer.
  • Process and check test results, as well as train new technicians in the laboratory.
  • Work on a variety of projects from the energy industries, with opportunities to work offshore as a laboratory technician.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs grade A to C, including Maths and Science, and 1 A-Level grade A-C in a Maths or Science subject.
  • Strong MS Excel knowledge and excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Troubleshooting skills and ability to work unsupervised and take ownership of tasks.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a strong organizational ability.
