Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Bariatric Surgery Fellow to join our team at Phoenix Public Health Ltd. As a Bariatric Surgery Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced bariatric surgeons and gain hands-on experience in all aspects of bariatric surgery.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in theatre sessions and provide inpatient care, including conducting daily ward rounds and supporting the RMO with clinical enquiries.
  • Cover weekday out-of-hour patient emergency calls and enquiries, and participate in a weekend on-call rota.
  • Conduct follow-up clinics for NHS patients and new patient clinics.
  • Answer clinical enquiries and liaise with other hospital teams when patients are admitted to NHS facilities.
  • Keep records of patient discharges, HDU stays, M&M events, and present data in regular M&M meetings.
  • Review blood tests, action letters, and assist with clinical audits.
Requirements
  • Full GMC registration.
  • Peri-CCT level in General Surgery (or equivalent).
  • Good laparoscopic surgery skills with previous experience in laparoscopic fundoplication and/or intra-corporeal suturing.
  • Meticulous clinical standards and an excellent work ethic.
  • Excellent English language skills.
