Transport Team Leader

C J Lang & Son Ltd, the wholesaler for SPAR Scotland, is seeking a skilled Transport Team Leader to support the Transport Manager at our Longtown Distribution Centre in Dundee. This pivotal role involves leading a team of multi-drop drivers, loaders, and shunters to ensure day-to-day delivery logistics are executed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the operation of the day-to-day fleet, ensuring all orders and deliveries are achieved by deadlines and operational targets are met.
  • Capture and collate feedback from the team to support service delivery excellence.
  • Lead pre- and de-brief meetings with Transport colleagues, ensuring they have key information.
  • Support driver colleague recruitment, training, and development.
Requirements:
  • A good understanding of driving legislation, including operators licensing and Working Time Directives.
  • A Driver CPC or working towards obtaining one.
  • Preferably gained experience in a similar role in the Transport sector, with training provided.
