About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Radiographer Specialist CT/MRI to join our team at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our radiography department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rotate through the department, undertaking unsupervised procedures in various areas, including General Radiography, Accident & Emergency, CT, Fluoroscopy, and Community services.
  • Perform all clinical examinations to the highest standards, adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Set high standards of patient care, monitor, and initiate changes to improve care.
  • Assist and advise radiographers, assistant practitioners, and radiographic aides as needed.
  • Ensure knowledge is kept up to date with the latest developments in radiography and instigate change in liaison with Senior Radiographers and General Manager Diagnostics.
  • Participate in weekend and weekday shifts, including occasional overnight shifts and Bank Holidays.
  • Maintain clean, tidy, and appropriately equipped rooms/areas ready for immediate use.
  • Be familiar with all departmental clinical protocols and procedures for all modalities.
Requirements
  • Degree in Radiology (DCR or BSc) or equivalent.
  • State Registered.
  • Minimum 2 years post-registration experience.
  • Current Band 6 or more than 2 years of experience.
  • High-quality clinical skills in plain film.
  • Broad clinical experience.
  • Ability to work in a busy A&E environment, managing daily workload.
  • Able to undertake QA tests for all equipment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Articulate, able to communicate with Consultant Radiologists and all other staff within the department.
  • Ability to liaise with consultants/ward staff within the Trust.
  • Able to work in a busy A&E environment, managing daily workload.
  • Knowledge of IRMER and ionising radiation regulations.
  • Proven organisational skills in post covering sick leave, holiday, etc.
Desirable Qualities
  • Post-Graduate Diploma/degree.
  • Experience of managing daily workload.
  • Keen to progress within the fluorography and mammography specialties.
  • Potential to demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Well-developed communication skills.
  • CT experience.
