Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiographer Specialist CT/MRI to join our team at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality imaging services to our patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rotate through the department, undertaking unsupervised procedures in CT and MRI modalities, including general radiography, accident and emergency, and community services.
  • Perform all clinical examinations to the highest standards, adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Set high standards of patient care, monitor, and initiate changes to improve care.
  • Assist and advise radiographers, assistant practitioners, and radiographic aides as needed.
  • Ensure knowledge is kept up to date with the latest developments in radiography and instigate change in liaison with senior radiographers and the general manager of diagnostics.
  • Participate in weekend and weekday shifts, including occasional overnight shifts and bank holidays.
  • Maintain clean, tidy, and appropriately equipped rooms/areas ready for immediate use.
  • Be familiar with all departmental clinical protocols and procedures for all modalities.
Requirements
  • Degree in Radiography or equivalent qualification.
  • State registration as a Radiographer.
  • Minimum 2 years post-registration experience, preferably in CT and/or MRI.
  • Current Band 6 or more than 2 years of experience.
  • Ability to work in a busy A&E environment, managing daily workload.
  • Good communication skills, articulate, and able to communicate with consultant radiologists and other staff within the department.
  • Ability to liaise with consultants, ward staff, and other departments within the trust.
  • Knowledge of IRMER and ionising radiation regulations.
  • Proven organisational skills, including covering sick leave and holiday.
