About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to support the learning of pupils in our inspirational SEN School in Gateshead. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Develop an understanding of the different needs and learning styles of pupils within the classroom.
  • Work closely with Class Teachers and colleagues to establish a positive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired).
  • Experience of working with children in schools in the UK.
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature.
  • Hold a Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child-related references that cover the last two years.
