Veterinary Clinic Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in St Albans. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead a clinic from both a clinical and operational perspective, driving clinical and business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of clinic performance, ensuring excellence across clinical, financial, and team management areas.
- Manage and develop the veterinary team, as well as the Nursing Director and Practice Director, to ensure the highest standard of patient and client care.
- Clinical Leadership: Allocate 80% of your time to clinical work, allowing you to lead by example and support your team.
- Promote teamwork and create an environment where all team members work to their maximum potential.
- Implement clinical audits, address any performance issues, and ensure evidence-based practices.
Clinical and Business Performance:
- Drive client membership and acquisition initiatives, working closely with the membership manager to achieve growth targets.
- Budget management and financial planning, with a focus on key performance indicators (KPIs) to influence the clinic's profitability.
- Collaborate on local clinic strategy, overseeing critical areas including HR, recruitment, health & safety, and client care.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Be the clinical figurehead for the practice, providing veterinary leadership to the team.
- Conduct regular performance conversations, manage direct reports, and ensure effective communication and development within the team.
- Foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and well-being, supporting team members through mental health awareness and open communication.
Client Experience:
- Ensure every client experience is exceptional, with clear and empathetic communication.
- Oversee the handling of client complaints, ensuring prompt resolution and continuous improvement.
- Participate in local community events to promote the clinic and its values.
