Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Tempest Resourcing Limited. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism and additional learning needs in a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with Autism and additional learning needs, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Assist teachers in the classroom, helping to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting a culture of respect and understanding.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing valuable insights to teachers and other support staff.
  • Supervise students during break times and lunch times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Manage challenging behavior, using positive strategies to de-escalate conflicts and promote calm.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications, such as a degree or NVQ/Level 3 in Childcare.
  • Experience working with students with Autism and additional learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A positive, caring, and energetic attitude, with a commitment to promoting the well-being and success of all students.
  • Team Teach training and ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) experience are desirable.
