About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head Academic to join our Senior Management Team at Catholic Independent Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the academic direction of the school and ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of academic leadership, with a strong focus on teaching, learning, and assessment. They will be a strategic thinker, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to build strong relationships with staff, students, and parents.

The Deputy Head Academic will play a key role in developing and implementing the school's academic vision, and will be responsible for leading and managing a team of teachers and support staff. They will also be responsible for ensuring that the school's academic policies and procedures are in place and are being implemented effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the academic direction of the school, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement the school's academic vision, in line with the school's strategic plan.
  • Lead and manage a team of teachers and support staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Ensure that the school's academic policies and procedures are in place and are being implemented effectively.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with staff, students, and parents, to ensure that the school is a positive and supportive community.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A proven track record of academic leadership, with a strong focus on teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, and parents.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience of leading and managing a team of teachers and support staff, with a strong focus on staff development and well-being.
  • A deep understanding of the Catholic Independent Schools' values and mission, and a commitment to upholding these values in all aspects of the role.
