Pharmacy Manager Job Description

Nuffield Health is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Manager to lead our pharmacy team and ensure the safe and effective management of medicines across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and advice on medicines management to ensure processes are safe, cost-effective, and compliant with policies and guidelines.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage the pharmacy team to deliver high-quality services.
  • Optimise antimicrobial stewardship to minimise hospital-acquired infections.
  • Ensure daily ward rounds, medication reconciliation, and patient counselling.
  • Assist in facilitating timely and informed discharge of patients.
  • Implement medication safety alerts and drug recalls.
  • Ensure compliance with controlled drugs use guidelines and monitor audits.
  • Manage errors, complaints, and incidents related to medicines.
  • Support the development of healthcare professionals and deliver medicines-focused training.

Requirements:

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Experience in a clinical setting as a Pharmacist.
  • Leadership/managerial experience in a Pharmacy setting.
  • Awareness and knowledge of Oncology Pharmacy.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make decisions.
