Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Oncology Consultant to join our team in South West Wales. As a key member of our urology team, you will provide systemic therapy for patients with urological cancers, including renal and non-renal urology.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care and management of urological cancers
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Conduct clinics and consultations in West Wales General Hospital or Singleton Hospital, with opportunities for virtual working
  • Collaborate with clinical and medical oncologist colleagues to share best practices and improve patient outcomes
  • Participate in teaching and training of postgraduate and undergraduate clinical staff
About the Role

This is a 10-session post, and we offer flexible working hours to accommodate candidates with caring duties. You will have the opportunity to develop off-site working as needed, allowing remote chemotherapy prescribing.

Person Specification
  • Registered with the GMC and licensed to practice
  • Higher degree in MD/PhD
  • Experience in treating urological cancers and conducting research in oncology
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff
