Vehicle Examiner

At First Bus, we are seeking a skilled Vehicle Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of effective and efficient examination standards within the examination team under their control in accordance with Central Engineering Standard Operating Procedures.
Main Responsibilities
- Leadership and motivation of the Vehicle Examination Team.
- Carry out maintenance and safety audits.
- Comply with all HS & E legislation along with Group policies.
- Comply with all relevant Engineering SOPs.
- Provide guidance to other staff as required.
About You
- You must have a minimum of a level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent certification and on-the-job working experience.
- You must be aware of the DVSA standards for both the categorisation of defects (spot checks/enforcement) and annual test.
- You must be fully conversant with the safe operation of workshop equipment.
- You must be willing to attend appropriate underpinning training opportunities.
- You must hold a full UK driving licence.
- You must hold a full PSV/PCV licence. If not, we can help you obtain this.
- You must be willing to show flexibility in respect to working hours and job roles to ensure that commitments are fulfilled.
Working Hours and Benefits
- Working shifts: Monday to Friday 06:00 - 14:00/ 12:00 - 20:00.
- Salary: £32,500.00.
