Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Support Specialist to join our team at BlueGreen Recruit. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cooking and serving meals and snacks in accordance with the menus provided.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Preparing food for meals-on-wheels delivery and the production of meals for other units.
  2. Ensuring the correct and economical use of materials and equipment, to achieve maximum cost efficiency, quality and safety.
  3. Deputising for the cook in his/her absence, including the direction of kitchen assistants.
  4. Cleaning kitchen areas and equipment to Directorate and environmental health standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:Essential:
  • Good food hygiene knowledge.
  • Practical cooking skills.
  • Some experience of working in a kitchen doing food preparation.
  • Good communication skills.
Desirable:
  • Basic food hygiene certificate.
  • City & Guilds 706 1&2 equivalent Menu planning.
Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary package, with a estimated annual salary of £25,000 - £30,000 dependent on experience.
