Salary: £22,214 - £24,248 per annum, plus 30% premium band allowance
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at the University of Edinburgh. As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol the University campus on foot and in vehicle to deter and detect crime.
- Respond to fire and intruder alarms, and provide immediate support and guidance in emergency situations.
- Provide welfare support and signpost individuals to other agencies as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Develop and maintain relationships with students, staff, and visitors to promote a positive and inclusive community.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Full driving license and ability to drive a University vehicle.
- Computer literacy and ability to use security systems and software.
- Good attention to detail and ability to work independently.
