Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly experienced Distribution Manager to join our team at May & Stephens. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient distribution of our luxury goods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Control inward shipments, ensuring correct customs procedures are used and goods are received and inspected within 24 hours of arrival.
  • Manage the distribution team to ensure orders are delivered to a high standard, safely and on time.
  • Ensure all workshop shipments are passed on to the workshop team for quality control and labelling before storage.
  • Update and disseminate a daily report to all relevant staff on all goods in and goods out.
  • Perform quarterly stock takes, investigate any discrepancies and report results.
  • Ensure stock items are protected and stored appropriately, and the warehouse is always kept neat and orderly.
  • Take full control of the warehouse, ensuring it is a 'closed system' where products/components can only be added or removed through authorized personnel.
  • Ensure all issues are reported and logged, including supplier, quality, internal, and courier-related issues.
  • Provide accurate and timely delivery quotes to the sales team, identifying different options and costs, including allowances for duties and taxes.
  • Organize and schedule sales order deliveries, ensuring all details are correct, and for overseas deliveries, ensure paperwork is complete and accurate, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and any other specific requirements.

Requirements

  • Highly experienced in customs, imports, and exports.
  • Full, clean driving license is an essential requirement.
  • Flexible and forward-thinking.
  • Ability to develop and mentor distribution team staff.
