About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Vale of Glamorgan Council as a Digital Skills Educator, working on a Welsh Government Funded programme that offers free courses to eligible learners.
The programme includes Digital Skills, Employability, Skills for the Workplace, Confidence, and British Sign Language, along with a range of Health and Wellbeing Courses.
As a Digital Skills Educator, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality learning experiences to adult learners, using a range of teaching methods and digital technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Digital Skills training to adult learners, using a range of teaching methods and digital technologies.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the needs of adult learners and the local community.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and deliver a range of learning programmes.
- Contribute to the development of new learning materials and resources.
- Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of learning programmes and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
- A good level of education and the ability to demonstrate good literacy and numeracy.
- A high level of knowledge and experience in your subject area.
- A relevant teaching qualification or currently completing a teaching qualification.
- Experience of teaching or training adults.
- A relevant Practitioners Qualification (desirable for applicants who wish to teach ESOL or Essential Skills).
- Understanding of assessment or experience of delivering accredited programmes.
- Confidence in delivering learning using digital technology.
- Ability to deliver hybrid learning (face-to-face and online) where relevant, or be willing to undertake further training.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver innovative and creative learning that engages and challenges learners.
- An understanding of the needs of adult learners and an empathy for vulnerable learners.
- A willingness to undertake further training as required.
