Job Description

Position Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of industrial mechanical systems, including maintenance, repairs, and installations. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to achieve departmental and business objectives.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance activities to meet agreed schedules.
  • Carry out breakdown repairs to minimize unplanned process downtime and maximize plant availability.
  • Inspect mechanical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Diagnose faults using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and take appropriate corrective measures.
  • Operate site service equipment, such as boilers and compressors, and use a variety of tools and equipment, including access and lifting equipment, power tools, measuring and testing equipment, and working at height and in confined spaces.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a maintenance/industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of industrial plant and machinery, including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems.
  • Demonstrate understanding of site safety systems, including permit-to-work procedures, isolation methods, and other company policies.
  • Apprentice-trained technician with City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate or equivalent in Mechanical discipline.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
