Deputy Manager, Adult Community Services

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at Headway Adolescent Resources Ltd. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our residential home in Bristol, providing a safe and supportive environment for young people in our care.
Main Responsibilities:
- To work closely with the Home Manager to ensure the effective management of the home and the delivery of high-quality care to young people.
- To lead and manage a team of Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers, providing guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to provide excellent care.
- To ensure the home is run in accordance with company policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection.
- To work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for young people.
- To contribute to the development and implementation of care plans and to ensure that young people's needs are met.
Requirements:
- Good overall standard of education.
- Working towards or hold Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
- Up to date knowledge of Child Care legislation, children's home regulations and quality standards.
- Hold a QCF Level 3 qualification or be willing to work towards one.
- Commitment to commence relevant level 5 Diploma within 6 months of appointment and successful completion of probation period, if not already qualified to this level.
- A minimum of 2 years' previous experience of working directly with young people with challenging behaviour.
- Experience of working with outside agencies, other professionals, parents and families.
- Experience of attending reviews, planning meetings etc.
- Excellent report writing and numeracy skills.
- Well organised with excellent administration and IT skills.
- Able to relate to young people with empathy and committed to a high standard of child care and to achieve the best outcomes for young people in their care.
- Strong motivational, management and leadership potential. Able to supervise, support and develop Team Leaders & Residential Support Workers to create a cohesive team.
