As a Care Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting people with various needs, including physical and/or learning disabilities, mental health issues, and autism.

No prior experience in care is required, as you will receive comprehensive training from our award-winning learning and development team. This training includes classroom-based sessions, e-learning, and the opportunity to shadow experienced Support Practitioners in their daily roles.

A driving license and access to your own car are preferable but not essential. On top of your training, we will finance and support you to achieve your SVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care in-house.

As a Care Support Specialist, you may be required to work weekends, shift patterns, and sleepovers if needed. Your responsibilities will depend on the needs of the individuals you support and may include:

  • Assisting individuals to engage with their communities by planning and attending outings to various clubs and leisure activities.
  • Administering and monitoring medication.
  • Assisting with personal care, including showering, bathing, dressing, and arranging visits with professionals.
  • Providing practical support with daily household tasks, such as general housework, laundry, ironing, cooking, and shopping.

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland provides personalized and outcome-focused support to over 2800 individuals in their own homes across Scotland. We support individuals with a range of needs, and some may present challenging behavior or require a high level of personal care.
