Residential Support Worker - Exciting Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Residential Support Worker to join our dynamic team at a secure, welfare-only, all-female children's home in Glinton, Peterborough.

About the Role

This is a full-time position (37 hours per week) with 2 sleep-ins per month. The successful candidate will provide individualized support to young people with complex needs, forming positive relationships and responding effectively to a range of emotions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to young people
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with young people and colleagues
  • Participate in physical activities and contribute to a safe and supportive environment
  • Work alternate weekends, bank holidays, and overnight stays (sleep-ins on a rota basis)
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the well-being and safety of young people
Requirements
  • Empathy and passion for helping young people
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including report writing and incident recording
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Previous experience in childcare or knowledge of child protection issues and procedures
  • NVQ Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce (CYP)
