Residential Care Worker

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Peterborough City Council. As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to young people in our secure, all-female children's home, Clare Lodge.
About the RoleAs a Residential Care Worker, you will be responsible for providing individualized support to our young people, based on their complex needs. You will work closely with our team to create a safe and nurturing environment, promoting the physical, emotional, and psychological well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Provide care and support to young people, responding effectively to their emotional needs
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
- Participate in shift working patterns, including 7:30 - 16:30 and 13:00 - 22:00, with alternate weekends off
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans
- Collaborate with the team to ensure the smooth running of the children's home
We offer a comprehensive induction programme, full training, and continuous learning and development opportunities. You will also receive a yearly retention payment of £2K per annum, subject to performance, and a sleep-in allowance paid. Meals are provided on shift, and you will have access to free onsite parking.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need to be over the age of 21, have good interpersonal and communication skills, and be willing to work every other weekend and bank holidays. You will also need to be able to take part in physical activities and be willing to do overnight stays (sleep-ins on a rota basis).
