AECOM is seeking an experienced Technical Director to lead environmental impact assessments for renewable energy projects. This is a key role within our Environment & Sustainability business, contributing to the growth of our renewable energy portfolio.

About the Role

You will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary teams and overseeing the preparation of environmental assessments and reports. This will involve working closely with internal supply teams and members of the wider business to deliver high-quality environmental services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead environmental inputs across various project life stages, from early strategy development to detailed design and operation.
  • Direct the day-to-day EIA project manager and oversee several EIA teams, ensuring effective coordination and resource management.
  • Collaborate with internal supply teams and members of the wider business to deliver high-quality environmental services.
  • Mentor staff development and support their career progression.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience directing and managing multidisciplinary environmental inputs to infrastructure development projects.
  • An excellent understanding of EIA processes, environmental assessment methods, and relevant consenting regimes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and report writing skills, including technical reviewing.
  • Project management skills, including programming, staff resource management, and budget management.
Salary and Benefits

AECOM offers a competitive salary package, estimated at £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on location and experience. You will also benefit from a range of employee perks, including career development opportunities, technical practice networks, and volunteering days.
