Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Site Engineer to join our team in Aylesbury. As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of construction projects, from planning to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with site management, technical specialists, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Monitor work progress and implement project safety initiatives to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain high standards of environmental awareness and behavior.
- Drive quality delivery through effective planning and execution.
- Supervise and mentor assistant engineers and technicians.
- Monitor and record delivery against the agreed program and construction methods.
- Ensure that drawings and specification documents contain sufficient and accurate information for construction.
- Request missing information in a timely manner to meet the program.
- Ensure that works are accurately and clearly set out before commencement.
- Record verbal instructions received from clients or designers.
- Ensure that Inspection and Test Plans and checklists are in place and followed.
- Complete daily diary records and ensure they are maintained by others under your supervision.
- Assist in preparing 'look ahead' programs and monitoring progress.
- Prepare written risk assessments and activity plans for the control of works.
- Ensure written risk assessments and activity plans are in place prior to works commencing.
- Ensure that COSHH assessments are in place for materials and requirements are followed.
- Ensure that testing/sampling of materials is carried out as required by the specification.
- Record and report Non-Conformances and ensure corrective action is taken.
- Ensure materials and workmanship meet the specification and maintain records and proofs.
- Contribute to the monthly and quarterly commercial forecast and reporting.
- Provide accurate setting out for works before commencement, allowing time for independent checking.
- Arrange formal checking of setting out and ensure check request form is completed.
- Ensure material delivery tickets are passed to the section engineer for cost coding.
- Carry out testing/sampling of materials as required by the specification.
- Carry out site measures for control and ordering of materials.
- Take receipt of materials and check description, quantity, markings, and condition before signing for receipt.
- Ensure comprehensive records of all resources employed on additional works are maintained and submitted for signature.
- Complete Observation cards if you observe something unsafe, damaging to the environment, or good enough.
Experience & Knowledge
- Proven experience of working with setting-out structures and civil engineering/building construction.
- Prior experience in Civil Engineering.
