Catering Support Professional

Seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as a Catering Support Professional. This rewarding opportunity is perfect for someone who loves food and wants to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals.
As a valued member of our staff bank, you will have the flexibility to choose shifts that align with your schedule. Working closely with our Head Chef, you will support the chefs to prepare meals, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and assist with deliveries.
This role offers a calm and pleasurable working environment where you can manage your workload and enjoy creating delicious meals. You'll also have the opportunity to interact with people outside the kitchen regularly, making it a great social experience.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Assisting catering staff with meal preparation and cooking in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Serving service users, staff, and visitors with food and beverages.
- Maintaining storage procedures and stock rotation.
- Cleaning and storing equipment and furniture correctly.
- Ensuring the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with company policies and procedures.
- Liaising with the wider team, including dietitians regarding dietary and planned meals.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Relevant catering qualification (desirable).
- Knowledge of COSHH and HACCP.
- Experience working in a similar role.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
You will be working at Gregory House, a Learning Disability and Autism service providing care and support to 22 adults with Learning Disability and/or Mental Health needs. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team helping to provide a specialist provision.
As a Catering Support Professional, you'll be part of a dynamic team that ensures service users lead good and meaningful everyday lives with choice and control. The service aims to facilitate access to mainstream services and facilities, engagement in work and training, leisure opportunities, hobbies, and personal interests.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of £13.50, including a 12.07% holiday allowance uplift. You'll also receive two weeks' paid induction, free meals, parking, mandatory training, wellbeing support, and pension contribution options.
