Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent position as a Clinical Lead/Ward Sister in our Oncology and Haematology department.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse to lead our team in providing high-quality patient care. As a Clinical Lead/Ward Sister, you will be responsible for the safe delivery of all aspects of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) administration, as well as the assessment and development of care plans for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide visible, professional nursing leadership and support to the team.
  • Supervise and guide junior staff in delivering SACT and other aspects of patient care.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Participate in clinical audit and research to drive quality improvement.

Swansea Bay University Health Board is a leading provider of cancer services in South West Wales. Our Cancer Centre at Singleton Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility that provides chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immunotherapy to over 5,000 patients annually.

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with experience in Oncology and Haematology.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Desirable: Substantial post-qualifying experience, SACT competence, UKONS triage experience, and post-graduation cancer qualification.
