Job Title: English Teacher

Location: Yeovil, Somerset

Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 per annum

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated English Teacher to join our team at a well-regarded school in Yeovil. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate teacher to inspire and challenge students, helping them develop a solid foundation in English and achieve their academic goals.

About the Role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the national curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to support individual learning needs
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and a love for learning
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the English curriculum and ensure consistency in teaching standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through targeted interventions
  • Foster a culture of respect and inclusivity within the classroom and beyond
  • Contribute to curriculum development and review processes to ensure high-quality teaching

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification in English
  • Previous experience teaching English at the secondary level
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and a commitment to high-quality teaching
  • Excellent classroom management skills and a passion for helping students achieve their best
  • A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
