Job Title: Assistant Chief Engineer - Communication Systems

The Role

As an Assistant Chief Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership and independent technical oversight to our Strategic Communications engineering teams. You'll work alongside programme leads to develop new and support in-service Radio and Satellite Communications systems for Defence customers in the UK and overseas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide governance and oversight of the technical work of the Strategic Communications engineering teams.
  • Ensure the appropriate level of independent assurance is applied to the technical output.
  • Help grow the Strategic Communications business through supporting bids and business development activity.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in communication systems and network design and support.
  • Ensure technical risks and issues are being appropriately managed and mitigated.
Requirements

We're looking for someone with significant experience and subject matter expertise in end-to-end, strategic communication systems. You'll need experience of overseeing the technical work of others, including reviewing designs and documentation, and authorising the release of deliverables.

You'll also need demonstrable experience of engineering delivery on large and/or complex engineering projects, and experience of delivering service-based contracts to the Ministry of Defence.
