Liverpool John Moores University is a distinctive institution rooted in the Liverpool City Region with a global presence. We are seeking an experienced youth work specialist to join our School of Education, which has a long history in education, childhood, and teacher training.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading our new youth work degree apprenticeship and will be responsible for teaching across our programs in education, childhood, and communities. This accredited program equips individuals with the skills and knowledge to support the personal, social, and educational development of young people.

To be considered for this position, the ideal candidate should have:

  • An honors degree or postgraduate degree in a related discipline
  • A JNC youth work qualification, indicating professional recognition and credibility in the field of youth work
  • Experience in higher education: proven experience in teaching at university level, particularly in youth work and education-related programs
  • Excellent communication skills: ability to effectively convey complex social concepts to students and colleagues
  • Teamwork and leadership skills: ability to collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and lead academic programs
