Oxford, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom European Women in Mathematics Full time

We are seeking talented researchers to take up exciting opportunities at the Mathematical Institute.

The institute offers a unique chance to conduct your own research programme, working with our faculty in algebra, combinatorics, geometry, history of mathematics, logic, mathematical physics, number theory, functional analysis, stochastic analysis or topology groups, or the Oxford Centre for Nonlinear PDE (OxPDE).

Candidates must have research interests compatible with those of our current faculty and have already produced excellent research during their PhD and in any postdoctoral positions. They will be required to contribute up to three hours of teaching per week for the 24 weeks of each academic year to support the department.

Applicants should have, or be close to completing, a PhD in mathematics or a related discipline and show evidence of independence and the ability to undertake research of the highest academic standard.

We proudly hold a departmental Athena SWAN Silver Award and an institutional Race Equality Charter Bronze Award, guiding our progress towards advancing racial and gender equality. As part of our strategic aim to improve staff equality and diversity, we would particularly welcome applications from women and from BME candidates.

The successful applicants will have an outstanding record of papers published in major international journals and a realizable and relevant research plan which would enhance the research profile of the Mathematical Institute.
