Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Tanglewood Care Homes as a Care Assistant. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to residents, including washing, toileting, dressing, and undressing.
- Assist residents with daily living activities, such as eating, drinking, and mobility.
- Monitor and report any changes in residents' condition, including physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Participate in care planning and implementation, ensuring residents' needs are met.
- Assist with social activities, such as hobbies and outings, to promote residents' engagement and well-being.
- Respond to nurse call systems and answer door and telephone calls, providing assistance as required.
- Under the supervision of senior care staff, report on residents' well-being and complete daily records.
- Carry out regular checks on residents, as determined by senior staff members.
- Ensure rooms are clean and tidy, and commodes are empty, in line with the care home's waste disposal policy.
- Assist with serving food and drinks, and wash up as required.
- Escort residents on social outings and hospital visits.
Requirements
- Previous experience in care or a related field is desirable.
- Ability to work as part of a team and provide excellent customer service.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
