About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Windows Infrastructure Engineer to join our Security Compliance team at the Met Office. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the secure delivery of our Windows-based IT systems and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patching our Windows server and endpoint devices
  • Remediating issues relating to patching
  • Proactively reviewing the Incident and Task queues and taking ownership of issues as appropriate
  • Responding to customers and colleagues promptly and keeping them informed
  • Prioritising support requests effectively and to the appropriate level of urgency/impact
  • Triaging and escalating support beyond your present capability/remittance

Essential Criteria
  • Expertise in Microsoft Operating Systems support (Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016/2019, Active Directory tools)
  • Experience with ITSM tools, Intune, and other MS365 platforms
  • Knowledge of patch management, MCM/SCCM, and anti-virus solutions
  • Logical, methodical, and detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
Desirable Criteria
  • Current qualifications or willingness to learn and follow the Microsoft Certified pathway
