About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Windows Infrastructure Engineer to join our Security Compliance team at the Met Office. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the secure delivery of our Windows-based IT systems and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patching and maintaining our Windows server and endpoint devices
  • Remediating issues related to patching and ensuring the integrity of our systems
  • Proactively reviewing incident and task queues, taking ownership of issues as appropriate, and escalating when necessary
  • Providing timely and effective support to customers and colleagues, keeping them informed throughout the process
  • Prioritizing support requests effectively, responding to urgent and high-impact issues promptly
  • Triaging and escalating support requests beyond your current capabilities or remit

Requirements
  • Expertise in Microsoft Operating Systems support, including Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016/2019, and Active Directory tools
  • Experience with ITSM tools, Intune, and other MS365 platforms, as well as patch management and anti-virus solutions
  • Logical, methodical, and detail-oriented approach, with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for learning
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results
