Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Educator for Resuscitation Services to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering paediatric resuscitation training programmes in line with the Resuscitation Council UK guidelines, meeting specialist clinical staff requirements, Trust agreed targets and strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate will have significant paediatric nursing experience in emergency medicine or ITU/HDU, with extensive experience in the management of paediatric Cardiopulmonary Arrests/Resuscitation quality initiatives. They will also have a proven ability to develop staff through mentoring and supervision, including the support of Professional nurse Advocacy Programme.

The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team, with excellent managerial, operational, leadership and organisational skills. They will also have the ability to engage with key stakeholders within the clinical setting locally and nationally, and to design, deliver, and evaluate resuscitation education programmes.

Main Duties of the Job

The Lead Educator for Resuscitation Services will be responsible for:

  • Delivering paediatric resuscitation training programmes in line with the Resuscitation Council UK guidelines
  • Meeting specialist clinical staff requirements, Trust agreed targets and strategic objectives
  • Developing and implementing resuscitation education programmes
  • Providing mentoring and supervision to staff
  • Engaging with key stakeholders within the clinical setting
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • NMC Registered Nurse
  • Instructor for Paediatric Advanced Life Support courses
  • Evidence of continuing professional development within resuscitation
  • Evidence of current Revalidation with NMC
  • Relevant Master's degree (working towards) or equivalent experience
  • Experience of debriefing training/PEERS training
  • Evidence of valid Resuscitation Teaching qualification (GIC)
