About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at Horizon Care and Education. As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children with complex social and emotional needs and learning disabilities.

As a member of our team, you will work in a therapeutically informed home, using our unique SHINE (Supporting Healing In Nurturing Environments) Therapeutic Model. This approach allows you to develop your practice using PACE and psychologically-informed trauma-responsive approaches to care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support with morning routines, such as getting ready for school and ensuring a good breakfast.
  • Help young people continue with hobbies, social activities, and friendships, and learn new skills.
  • Prepare evening meals and ensure the young person has a safe space to relax and unwind within the home.
  • Work in partnership with parents and other professionals, using a range of communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Hold or be working towards the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Have the appropriate skills and experience to work in an environment that requires using your own initiative.
