Children's Residential Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Care Worker to join our team. As a key member of our residential care team, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for young people aged 8-18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.
Key Responsibilities- Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age.
- Maintain a homely and friendly culture and environment in the homes.
- Deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
- Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being.
- Maintain a safe environment for young people.
- Ensure the safety of the students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication.
- Support taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People is desirable.
- Experience in a residential children's home environment is desirable.
- Experience from within the health & social care sector is desirable.
- A full driving licence is essential, as you may be required to transport the children from time to time.
- A competitive salary of £22,308 to £27,849 (sleep allowance included).
- A comprehensive training package, including scheduled ongoing face-to-face training and CPD planning.
