Company Overview

The UCL Division of Psychology and Language Sciences is seeking an experienced speech and language therapist to join their team as a fixed-term Lecturer (Teaching). This role will support teaching and management of the MSc Speech and Language Therapy, a two-year pre-registration training accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).

Salary and Benefits

This part-time position offers a competitive salary of £52,487 - £61,534 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London allowance. The successful candidate will also receive a defined benefit career average revalued earnings pension scheme (CARE), cycle to work scheme, season ticket loan, immigration loan, relocation scheme for certain posts, on-site nursery, and enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption pay.

Job Description

The successful applicant will lead a module on the management of developmental speech, language, and communication disorders, coordinating and delivering teaching, preparing course materials, and undertaking module assessment duties. A working knowledge of professional standards for speech and language therapy pre-registration training is essential.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, applicants must have:

  • HCP registered speech and language therapist
  • Expertise in the field of developmental speech, language, and communication disorders
  • Experience of applying evidence to the management of developmental speech, language, and communication disorders
  • Experience of facilitating effective small group learning for adults and student learning in a clinical context
  • A clinical specialism in language disorders is desirable
  • Experience of working as a tutor on a pre-registration speech and language therapy training programme at a UK university is desirable
