The Orthopaedic Department at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital is a dynamic team of 38 Consultants with specialized expertise in various areas, including Hip, Knee, Upper Limb, Foot and Ankle, Pelvis, Limb Reconstruction, Brachial Plexus, and Spine. As a Consultant in Orthopaedic Spinal Surgery, you will be part of this esteemed team, providing in-patient services at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and outpatient services at the West Glasgow ACH.

As a key member of the trauma rota, you will work in teams of three to provide general trauma cover services. The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital will be designated as a Level 2 Trauma Centre, and you will be expected to actively participate in the development of a Managed Clinical Network in Orthopaedic Trauma.

Responsibilities will include providing a full range of inpatient, day case, and outpatient elective spinal services, working within the multidisciplinary spinal team, and participating in a monthly spinal radiology MDT meeting. You will also be required to undertake administrative duties typical of a consultant role.

To be successful in this role, you must have full GMC registration, a license to practice, and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. You should have completed at least one year of recognized spinal fellowship training.
