Are you a seasoned safety professional looking to take your career to the next level? We are seeking an experienced Site Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) Manager to lead our SHEQ operations at a key FMCG supply chain site.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a global and instantly recognisable FMCG retail supply chain company that prioritises safety and people. As a Site SHEQ Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, devising and implementing SHEQ strategies, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Your main objectives will include:

  • Overseeing site SHEQ functions to ensure adherence to health and safety regulations
  • Advising the site leadership team on all SHEQ matters, operational and strategic
  • Partnering with Engineering, Supply and Transport teams on SHEQ-related matters to drive a standard approach to safety
  • Supporting the launch and implementation of SHEQ corporate group project initiatives, ensuring operational sites are compliant
  • Managing accident and incident investigations, effectively analysing incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions
  • Conducting audits, incident investigations, and managing risk assessments
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining Health & Safety, Environment and Quality policies in line with regulatory requirements
  • Developing training programmes, strategies, and processes to improve Health & Safety, Environment, Quality and Corporate responsibility performance
  • Conducting safety meetings with relevant stakeholders across all sites
  • Driving SHEQ training programs and continuous improvement efforts
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, and experience in high-risk industry environments, ideally complex and time-sensitive FMCG
  • Grad member of IOSH
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Proven track record in SHEQ management within a fast-paced setting
  • Internal auditor experience preferred
  • Proven experience in a health and safety management role within a medium or high-risk industry
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, operationally challenging environment
  • Knowledge of Logistics/Distribution/FMCG/Manufacturing sector including familiarity with materials handling equipment (MHE)
  • Self-starter and empowered to lead your site function
  • Facilities, building property or engineering experience ideal
  • Knowledge and experience in ISO standards including lead auditor ideal
  • Working towards Chartered membership of IOSH
