NHS National Services Scotland seeks a skilled Public Health Support Officer to join our team.

We offer a competitive salary of £24,647 - £26,763 per annum (pro rata for part-time hours) and a comprehensive benefits package.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of health advice and information to the public and professionals using a range of quality assured resources. Responsibilities include:

  1. Providing accurate and confidential general non-clinical health and social care information across multiple channels.
  2. Utilising guided, quality assured resources to respond to enquiries and record interactions in line with information governance and data protection processes.
  3. Supporting the delivery of ad-hoc special helplines and scripted specialist information to callers in response to short notice acute public health incidents.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Educated to NVQ level 2 or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and IT skills, with good knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages and internet search engines.

We operate from 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, with flexible working hours available. Our comprehensive training programme ensures the post holder's success.

You will be part of our Health Information Service Call Operators team, responsible for delivering health advice and information to the public and professionals through various channels.
