Graduate Teaching Assistant | Location: Croydon, CR7 | Hours: Full-time, Term-time | Payrate: £95-£105 | Starting Date: ASAP

We are currently recruiting for teaching assistant positions for all graduates who are looking to gain valuable experience in a school environment before pursuing teacher training.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to learn how to operate in a classroom and school setting, collaborating with educators and the larger school community to create a safe and supportive learning environment for students to excel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with varying learning needs and prior attainment levels in various settings (whole class, small group, one-to-one)
  • Maintain and promote high academic and behavioural expectations
  • Mentor and coach pupils in developing their self-confidence and aspirations for their future
  • Work cooperatively with all staff members to support every pupil to succeed
  • Support and lead learning activities, developing the ability to teach whole classes in the future

Requirements:

  • Hold an undergraduate degree, preferably grade 2:2 or above
  • Two references and an Enhanced DBS Certificate are required for all candidates
  • A committed personality and approach to working with young people
  • Ability to remain positive and calm during difficult challenges/situations
  • Experience working in a primary environment is desired, but not necessary
