Healthcare Practitioner - Custody Unit

Join our team at the NHS and contribute to delivering high-quality care to vulnerable individuals in custody.

This role requires a dedicated and compassionate Registered (Adult) Nurse or Paramedic who can provide expert care in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will undergo comprehensive training and support to ensure their success in this challenging role.

You will work on a zero-hour contract, undertaking 12-hour shifts as required.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments and provide individualized care to detainees.
  • Manage minor illnesses or injuries, ensuring timely referrals to specialists when necessary.
  • Undertake forensic examinations of individuals in police custody, maintaining accurate records and adhering to protocols.
  • Assess and manage injuries to police officers and staff, providing expert opinion and guidance.
  • Participate in court proceedings following relevant training and preparation.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and implement safeguarding pathways to protect patients.

Salary:

£35,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
